What You See Is What You Get

De term wysiwyg zie je vaker voorkomen op onze website. Dat komt omdat veel van onze editors (lime, xopus maar ook maatwerk) de gebruiker in staat stellen om de tekst te typen in een omgeving die sterk lijkt op hoe de web-bezoekers het zullen zien. Dat geeft een redacteur meer inzicht in het eindresultaat dan dat je het in een groot wit tekstkader zou typen.

Het is net als met Word eigenlijk. Zoals het eruit ziet in Word, zo komt het ook uit je printer. Dat vinden we allemaal heel gewoon, maar vroeger was het anders. Denk maar aan Word-Perfect. Shift-F7!

Xopus has been acquired by SDL

Back in 2001, Q42 created a new kind of XML editor. Not only was it browser based and a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) frontrunner, but it was also capable of validating your changes against the rules defined in an XML schema. To put it in other words: with Xopus you cannot break the rules of your content, even though it feels like writing a letter in Word.

Lime. What can we say. It's a very lightweight, elegant and yet very powerful website management tool. Right there in your browser.

Just as you might expect. Its powerful features allow easy maintaining textual content, images and downloads as if you were working with a word processor. Lime has been ranked quite high in several magazines and books on website management.

DCDD: Dutch Coalition on Disability and Development

Q42 was responsible for the 'DCDD' project: realisation of the website for the Dutch Coalition on Disability and Development (DCDD).

DCDD's mission is to improve the condition of persons with disabilities by promoting equality of rights, communal responsibility for care, and social integration, with the perspective of human rights as its point of departure.
